So, while at work,
I tend to get more done if I have something to listen to. Usually that means
internet radio or mp3s on my PSP. Well, recently I've been listening to various
podcasts about myriad topics looking for something to grab my interest. And
I've found a winner. This Week in Science (TWIS) is a radio show out of UC Davis
all about science news. The hosts, Kirsten and Justin are great. Dr. Kirsten,
a neurophysiololgy researcher, is the brains of the show, while Justin is the
goofy sidekick who tends to go on rants when scientists or the government are
being stupid. I love how they always say "what?..." when presenting stories.
You'll have to listen to know what I'm talking about. Each episode is an hour
long with the first half devoted to news and the second half being an interview
with a scientist. The interviews are awesome, full of information, and the hosts
don't throw too many softballs to the guests. They'll ask some real tough questions
about their research and conclusions. Its also awesome that the show is on twice a week. At an hour per episode, that really gives me a lot to listen to. So, go listen to TWIS and become a minion. Fight robot domination!

I just finished my egyptian archer model (to the left) so now on to something else. At work, I'm working on a model of a facility from a blueprint and getting ready to travel down to Fort Pickett, Virginia next friday for my first real site.

Well, a bunch of friends from the RPI days came down to stay with Beth and I for the weekend. We went into DC, saw the monuments, went to Natural History, and the National Gallery. Everyone had a great time. To see some pics from the trip, click on the goofy thumbnail of Robert to the right.

Here's another small modeling project I'm working
on (yeah I know, I do start a lot of projects without finishing
all of them). He's going to be an ancient Egyptian warrior. |
Also, head on over to the Penumbra Overture site and try out the demo. Troy, the lead modeler on my team at Camber helped out with the artwork. The demo is pretty sweet, and I may have to pick up the full game (not bad for $20).
