I recently bought Babylon 5 Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD from Half.com. When the second one came in, two of the disks were so scratched that several of the episodes were unwatchable. I was dreading a long battle with the seller, trying to get a refund or a new copy of the set. I decided first to go to Best Buy and see if I could find any kind of DVD disk repair thing.

At Best Buy, I found a product called "Skip Doctor" which looks like a plastic piece of crap that would never do anything. It was $40, but I decided to try it anyway. I was amazed at how well it worked. It retrieved all the data from both of the damaged disks and they now work perfectly. I would definitely recommend this tool to anyone with damaged CDs or DVDs.

This past weekend sucked. 30 hours in three days. And the f'ing assistant manager Tom tried to get me to stay late. Next weekend will be awesome. No hours, all fun in Blue Ridge Summit with my favorite college buds. I really can't wait.

I've been working on level design program for the board game Hybrid which players can use to make (and eventually print and share) levels for the game. You can check out my first working version (note that it is very buggy and many features don't yet work) on my projects page.

My weekend went from the scheduled Saturday - 0 hours, Sunday - 7 hours to what I actually worked, Saturday 7 hours, Sunday 11.5 hours. That sucked. Also, my last day off was last Tuesday, and my next day off isn't until Thursday. Man, I'm tired. But at least my security paperwork is done and submitted back to Camber. I'm so crossing my fingers about October.

So this Vietnamese place near my bank has this awesome iced coffee drink called "ca fe sua da" (which is basically Vietnamese for "iced coffee"). This stuff is basically a few shots of espresso mixed with condensed milk. If you ever find yourself at a Vietnamese resturant, order it and you won't be sorry.

Look, I love Queen, and Bad Company is one of my greatest secret pleasures. But this is just a travesty. Paul Rodgers is no Freddy Mercury.
